And lo! it is a revelation of the Lord of the Worlds, 192 Which the True Spirit hath brought down 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayest be of the warners, 194 It has been revealed in plain Arabic. 195 Truly, it is in the Books of the ancients. 196 Is it not a token for them that the doctors of the Children of Israel know it? 197 And if we had revealed it to any of the foreigners 198 And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus it passes through the hearts of the criminals. 200 They will not believe in it till they behold the painful doom, 201 So it will come upon them suddenly, whilst they will be unaware. 202 and then they will exclaim, "Could we have a respite?" 203 Would they (now) hasten on Our doom? 204 What do you see? If We gave them enjoyment for years, 205 then there comes on them that they were promised, 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 Never have We destroyed a habitation till We had sent admonishers to them 208 To warn. For We are never unjust. 209 And [this divine writ is such a reminder:] no evil spirits have brought it down: 210 It is not meet for them, nor is it in their power, 211 Most surely they are far removed from the hearing of it. 212 Hence, [O man,] do not invoke any other deity side by side with God, lest thou find thyself among those who are made to suffer [on Judgment Day]. 213 Warn your nearest kinsmen, 214 And be kind and humble to the believers who follow you. 215 then, if they disobey thee, say, 'I am quit of that you do.' 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 Who sees you (O Muhammad SAW) when you stand up (alone at night for Tahajjud prayers). 218 and [sees] thy behaviour among those who prostrate themselves [before Him]: 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They descend upon every calumniator, sinner. 222 who lends an ear to them, and most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, the erring follow them. 224 Do you not see that they wander about bewildered in every valley? 225 and say things which they do not act upon, 226 Except those who believed and did good deeds, and profusely remembered Allah, and took revenge after they had been wronged*; and soon the unjust will come to know upon which side they will be overturned**. (* The Muslim poets who praise Allah and the Prophet. ** The disbelievers will be punished.) 227
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
