Hast thou received the story of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 When they came to him they said, "Peace!" He answered, "Peace!" [saying to himself]. "They are strangers." 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, brought out a fatted calf, 26 and placed it before them. "Will you not eat?" he said, 27 He began to feel afraid. They said, "Do not be afraid," and then gave him the glad news of the birth of a knowledgeable son. 28 Then his wife drew near vociferating, and smote her face, and said: an old barren woman! 29 They said: “So has your Lord said (that you shall have a boy). Surely He is Most Wise, All-Knowing.” 30 ۞ He said: what then is your errand! O ye sent ones! 31 They said, “We have been sent towards a guilty nation.” 32 so that we bring down stones of clay upon them 33 Sent forth from your Lord for the extravagant. 34 So We brought the believers out of that they were in. 35 for apart from one [single] house We did not find there any who had surrendered themselves to Us. 36 And We kept a sign remaining in it, for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Musa: When We sent him to Firon with clear authority. 38 But he turned away with his forces and said: A magician or a mad man. 39 So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame. 40 And also in Ad, when We loosed against them the withering wind 41 It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust. 42 And in Thamud, when We said to them: "Enjoy yourselves for a while;" 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on. 44 Then they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 And the people of Nuh We destroyed aforetime; verily they were a people transgressing. 46
