The Spider (Al-Ankaboot)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ A. L. M. 1 Do men think that they will be left alone on saying, "We believe", and that they will not be tested? 2 We did test those before them, and Allah will certainly know those who are true from those who are false. 3 Do those who practise evil think that they will get the better of Us? Evil is their judgment! 4 Whoso looks to encounter God, God's term is coming; He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 5 Whoever strives hard should know that it is for his own good. God is independent of the whole world. 6 as for those who have faith and do good works, We shall certainly cleanse them of their evil deeds and reward them according to the best of their actions. 7 We have charged man, that he be kind to his parents; but if they strive with thee to make thee associate with Me that whereof thou hast no knowledge, then do not obey them; unto Me you shall return, and I shall tell you what you were doing. 8 And those who accepted faith and did good deeds – We shall indeed include them among the virtuous. 9 There are some people who say: 'We believe in Allah' yet when such is hurt in the cause of Allah, he makes the persecution of people as though it were the punishment of Allah. But then if help comes from his Lord, he will say: 'We were with you' Does Allah not know what is in the chests of the worlds (people)? 10 Most certainly Allah knows the believers and the hypocrites. 11 And those who disbelieve say to those who believe: Follow our path and we will bear your wrongs. And never shall they be the bearers of any of their wrongs; most surely they are liars. 12 But they will surely carry their [own] burdens and [other] burdens along with their burdens, and they will surely be questioned on the Day of Resurrection about what they used to invent. 13
