And a sign to them is the dead earth: We give life to it and bring forth from it grain so they eat of it. 33 and produced therein grains from which they eat and established therein gardens of palms trees and vineyards and have made streams flow therein 34 That they may eat of His fruit. And their hands have not produced it, so will they not be grateful? 35 Hallowed be He who hath created all the pairs of that which the earth groweth, and of themselves and of that which they know not! 36 A token unto them is night. We strip it of the day, and lo! they are in darkness. 37 The sun runs to its fixed resting place; that is the decree of the Almighty, the Knower. 38 and [in] the moon, for which We have determined phases [which it must traverse] till it becomes like an old date-stalk, dried-up and curved: 39 It is not permitted to the Sun to catch up the Moon, nor can the Night outstrip the Day: Each (just) swims along in (its own) orbit (according to Law). 40 And an Ayah (sign) for them is that We bore their offspring in the laden ship [of Nuh (Noah)]. 41 and We have created for them the like of it whereon they ride; 42 Should We so wish, We can drown them, and there will be none to heed their cries of distress, nor will they be rescued. 43 unless it be by an act of mercy from Us and a grant of life for a [further span of] time. 44 And when it is said to them: Guard against what is before you and what is behind you, that mercy may be had on you. 45 None of the signs of their Lord ever comes to them but they turn away from it. 46 And when it is said to them: 'Spend of that which Allah has given you' the unbelievers say to the believers: 'Are we to feed those whom Allah can feed if He chooses? Surely, you are only in clear error' 47 And they say: when will this promise be fulfilled if ye say sooth? 48 They await only but a single Saihah (shout, etc.), which will seize them while they are disputing! 49 And they will not be able [to give] any instruction, nor to their people can they return. 50
