And a sign for them is the dead earth. We have brought it to life and brought forth from it grain, and from it they eat. 33 and produced therein grains from which they eat and established therein gardens of palms trees and vineyards and have made streams flow therein 34 That they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 All glory to Him who created pairs of everything that grows from the earth, and out of themselves, and other things they do not know. 36 A token unto them is night. We strip it of the day, and lo! they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runs on to a term appointed for it; that is the ordinance of the Mighty, the Knowing. 38 And the moon -- We have determined it by stations, till it returns like an aged palm-bough. 39 It is not allowable for the sun to reach the moon, nor does the night overtake the day, but each, in an orbit, is swimming. 40 Another Sign for them is that We carried all their offspring in the laden vessel 41 And We made similar vessels for them to ride. 42 And if We list, We shall drown them, and there will be no shout for them, nor will they be saved. 43 save as a mercy from Us, and enjoyment for a while. 44 When it is said to them: 'Have fear of that which is before you and behind you in order that you find mercy' 45 None of the signs of their Lord ever comes to them but they turn away from it. 46 When they are told: "Spend of what God has given you," the unbelievers say to those who believe: "Why should we feed those whom God should have fed if He pleased?" You are only in palpable error. 47 And they say: When will this threat come to pass, if you are truthful? 48 They await but one Shout, which will seize them while they dispute. 49 and so [sudden will be their end that] no testament will they be able to make, - nor to their own people will they return! 50
