The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By oath of those who establish proper ranks. 1 and restraining [from evil] by a call to restraint, 2 Then those who recite, being mindful, 3 Verily your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth, and of what between them is Lord of the Easts. 5 Verily We! We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment: the stars. 6 and guarded it against all rebellious devils: 7 They cannot listen to the exalted assembly and they are thrown at from every side, 8 and are repelled. Theirs is an unceasing chastisement. 9 But if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge], he shall be pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Then ask them (i.e. these polytheists, O Muhammad SAW): "Are they stronger as creation, or those (others like the heavens and the earth and the mountains, etc.) whom We have created?" Verily, We created them of a sticky clay. 11 Nay, you (O Muhammad SAW) wondered (at their insolence) while they mock (at you and at the Quran). 12 and, when reminded, do not remember 13 And seek to scoff when they behold a portent. 14 and say: "This is clearly nothing but [a mortal's] spellbinding eloquence! 15 When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected? 16 And our forefathers? 17 Say (O Muhammad): Ye, in truth; and ye will be brought low. 18 So that is just a single jolt, thereupon they will begin staring. 19 And say: Ah, woe for us! This is the Day of Judgment. 20 [They will be told], "This is the Day of Judgement which you used to deny." 21
