۞ (It will be said to the angels): "Assemble those who did wrong, together with their companions (from the devils) and what they used to worship. 22 other than Allah, and guide them to the Path of Hell! 23 "But stop them, verily they are to be questioned. 24 "Why help you not one another?" 25 Nay! on that day they shall be submissive. 26 And they will turn to one another and question one another. 27 They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]." 28 They will answer, “You yourselves did not have faith!” 29 "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion! 30 But now our Lord's word has come true against us: truly, we are bound to taste [the punishment]. 31 We mislead you and we ourselves had also gone astray." 32 And verily, on that Day they all will share in their common suffering. 33 Surely thus do We deal with the guilty. 34 They were the ones, who on being told, "God is only One," become puffed-up with pride 35 and would say: "Shall we, then, give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 Nay, but he [whom you call a mad poet] has brought the truth; and he confirms the truth of [what the earlier of God's] message-bearers [have taught]. 37 Verily ye are going to taste a torment afflictive. 38 But it will be no more than the retribution of (the Evil) that ye have wrought;- 39 Save the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 40 [in the hereafter,] theirs shall be a sustenance which they will recognize 41 Fruits of every kind, and they will be honoured 42 in the Gardens of Bliss. 43 Facing one another on thrones. 44 a cup from a spring being passed round to them, 45 white, sparkling (wine), a delight to the drinkers. 46 no headiness will be in it, and they will not get drunk thereon. 47 And with them maidens of modest look and large lustrous eyes, 48 like closely guarded pearls. 49 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 50 Said one of the speakers: "I had a friend 51 'Do you believe in the Day of Judgment? 52 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, are we indeed going to be requited? 53 He saith: Will ye look? 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 He will say, "By God! You almost brought me to ruin! 56 Had I not the guidance of my Lord, I would certainly have been brought into torment". 57 Then, are we not to die 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 Indeed, this is the great attainment. 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is such [a paradise] the better welcome - or the [hellish] tree of deadly fruit? 62 We have appointed it as a trial for the evildoers. 63 Surely it is a tree that-grows in the bottom of the hell; 64 and its fruits are like devils' heads. 65 Truly, they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 On top of it they shall have a brew of boiling water, 67 Then most surely their return shall be to hell. 68 They found their fathers erring, 69 and they are running in their footsteps. 70 And certainly most of the ancients went astray before them, 71 And We had already sent among them warners. 72 Then see the nature of the consequence for those warned, 73 except for the chosen servants of Allah? 74
