۞ (It will be said to the angels): "Assemble those who did wrong, together with their companions (from the devils) and what they used to worship. 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 “And stop them – they are to be questioned.” 24 “What is the matter with you, that you do not help one another?” 25 Nay! on that day they shall be submissive. 26 and approach each other with questions, 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 They shall say: Nay, you (yourselves) were not believers; 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 The sentence of our Lord has come true for us. We have certainly to taste (the punishment), 31 We mislead you and we ourselves had also gone astray." 32 Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom. 33 Lo! thus deal We with the guilty. 34 They were the ones, who on being told, "God is only One," become puffed-up with pride 35 and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". 36 In fact, he had brought them the truth and had acknowledged the Messengers (who were sent before him). 37 (They will be told), "You will certainly suffer the painful torment 38 but you shall not be recompensed except for what you were doing. 39 Not so, however, God's true servants: 40 there is waiting for them a known provision; 41 and fruits while they are honored. 42 in the Gardens of Bliss 43 On couches facing one another; 44 They will be served with a cup full of crystal clear wine, 45 white, sparkling (wine), a delight to the drinkers. 46 There will neither be any harm in it for their body nor will it intoxicate their mind. 47 And with them will be women limiting [their] glances, with large, [beautiful] eyes, 48 As if they were eggs, safely hidden. 49 Then one turned to the other in an enquiry. 50 One of them speaks thus: "Behold, I had [on earth] a close companion 51 who used to ask, 'Do you really believe that 52 Shall we be recompensed for our deeds after we die and become bones and dust? 53 And he will reply: 'Are you looking down (into Hell)' 54 Then he looked down and saw him in the midst of hell. 55 He shall say: By Allah! you had almost caused me to perish; 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 57 (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? 58 “Except our earlier death, and nor will we be punished?” 59 This is certainly the greatest triumph 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is this better as a welcome, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Verily, We have caused it to be a trial for evildoers: 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 Its spathes are like the heads of satans. 65 They will eat and fill their bellies with it, 66 Then they will have on top of it a mixture of boiling water. 67 They can only return to hell. 68 for, behold, they found their forebears on a wrong way, 69 So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps. 70 yet before them most of the ancients went astray, 71 And We had already sent among them warners. 72 and behold, how was the end of them that were warned, 73 Except the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah. 74
