3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And indeed, [it was for this reason that] Noah cried unto Us - and how excellent was Our response: 75 for We saved him and his household from that awesome calamity, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. 82 ۞ And indeed, among his kind was Abraham, 83 he came to his Lord with a sound heart. 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 Why do you solicit false gods instead of God? 86 What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then did he cast a glance at the Stars. 88 And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!" 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat? 91 “What is the matter with you, that you do not say anything?” 92 Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 He said: worship ye that which ye carve. 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burning fire. 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. 99 “My Lord! Give me a meritorious child.” 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones. 102 When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering), 103 We cried out: “O Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail peace be upon them is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 and We let it (the beautiful praise) remain upon him in the latter (generations), 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself. 113
