And indeed Yunus is one of the Noble Messengers. 139 when he fled like a runaway slave onto a laden ship. 140 And then drew lots and was of those rejected; 141 And the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy; 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 He would have indeed remained inside its belly (the fish) till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore while he was sick, 145 And We caused to grow over him a tree, a gourd. 146 And We had sent him to a hundred thousand: rather they exceeded. 147 and they believed. So We let them enjoy life for a while. 148 Now, ask them, has your Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or, did We create the angels females while they were witnessing? 150 No indeed! It is one of their fabrications when they say: 151 That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 What, and will you not remember? 155 Or is there for you a plain authority? 156 Bring your book if what you say is true. 157 And they have invented a blood-relationship between Him and the Jinns: but the Jinns know (quite well) that they have indeed to appear (before his Judgment-Seat)! 158 Exaltations to Allah above what they describe, 159 But not so the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 160 But as for you, and that you serve, 161 can lure away from God any 162 Save him Who is to roast in the Flaming Fire. 163 There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position); 164 We stand in ranks (for prayer) 165 And verily we! we hallow. 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 "We should certainly have been Servants of Allah, sincere (and devoted)!" 169 But (now that the Qur'an has come), they reject it: But soon will they know! 170 We decreed that Our Messenger servants 171 Most surely they shall be the assisted ones 172 and that Our hosts shall triumph. 173 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 174 And watch them and they shall see (the punishment)! 175 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned. 177 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 178 And watch and they shall see (the torment)! 179 Hallowed be thine Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they ascribe! 180 And peace be upon the Envoys; 181 It is only God, the Lord of the Universe, who deserves all praise. 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
