Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed Yunus is one of the Noble Messengers. 139 when he fled like a runaway slave onto a laden ship. 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy. 142 Had he not been of them who glorify Allah, 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ So We cast him, sick, on a barren shore, 145 We made a plant of gourd grow up for him. 146 And We had sent him to a hundred thousand: rather they exceeded. 147 And they believed, so We gave them provision till a time. 148 Now ask them if their Lord has daughters, and they sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were present? 150 Unquestionably, it is out of their [invented] falsehood that they say, 151 "Allah has begotten off spring or children (i.e. angels are the daughters of Allah)?" And, verily, they are liars! 152 Did He (then) choose daughters rather than sons? 153 What is amiss with you and your judgment? 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 Then bring your scripture, if what you say is true. 157 They assert kinship between Him and the angels. But the angels know that they (the liars) will be arraigned (in Hell). 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 Not (so do) the Servants of Allah, sincere and devoted. 160 Lo! verily, ye and that which ye worship, 161 You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him 162 except for he who shall roast in Hell. 163 The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. 164 And verily we! we are ranged in ranks. 165 And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah." 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 But when it came to them, they rejected it. They shall soon come to know (the end of such an attitude). 170 And assuredly Our word hath already gone forth Our bondmen, the sent ones: 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 and Our host -- they are the victors. 173 So turn thou aside from them for a season. 174 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 Then, when it descends into their courtyard (i.e. near to them), evil will be the morning for those who had been warned! 177 Leave them alone for a while, 178 and see; soon they shall see! 179 Your Lord, the Lord of Honor, is too exalted to be considered as they describe Him. 180 And peace is upon the Noble Messengers. 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
