And indeed Yunus is one of the Noble Messengers. 139 When he ran away to a ship completely laden, 140 Then lots were drawn and he became of those who were pushed into the sea. 141 The fish then swallowed him and he blamed himself. (For not waiting for Allah’s command.) 142 Had he not been one of those who acknowledge the glory of God, 143 he would have tarried in its belly until the day they shall be raised; 144 ۞ But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. 145 And We caused a plant of gourd to grow over him. 146 And [then] We sent him [once again] to [his people,] a hundred thousand [souls] or more: 147 And they believed; so We permitted them to enjoy (their life) for a while. 148 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), whether the daughters are for your Lord and the sons for them! 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Lo! verily it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 'Allah has begotten' They are truly liars. 152 (And again of their falsehood): He hath preferred daughters to sons. 153 What is the matter with you that you make such strange judgements? 154 What, will you not remember? 155 Or do you have a clear authority? 156 Then produce your writ, if ye are truthful. 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 Except the slaves of Allah, whom He choses (for His Mercy i.e. true believers of Islamic Monotheism who do not attribute false things unto Allah). 160 Wherefore verily neither ye nor that which ye worship, 161 you shall tempt none against Him 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 There is not one of us but hath his known position. 164 and, verily, we too are ranged [before Him in worship]; 165 We glorify God." 166 And indeed they used to say: 167 Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 We decreed that Our Messenger servants 171 That verily they! they shall be made triumphant. 172 and Our armies shall be the victors. 173 So turn thou from them for a while, 174 and see them; soon they shall see! 175 Do they want to suffer Our torment immediately? 176 When it descends into their courtyard, it will be terrible for those who have already been warned. 177 So turn (O Muhammad SAW) away from them for a while, 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 Too glorious is your Lord, the Lord of power, for what they ascribe to Him. 180 And peace be upon the Envoys; 181 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! 182
