Hizb 46
< random >
And Yunus was most surely of the apostles. 139 When he ran away to a ship completely laden, 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was among the losers, 141 The fish swallowed him up and he deserved (all this). 142 And had he not been of those who [even in the deep darkness of their distress are able to] extol God's limitless glory, 143 he would indeed have remained in its belly till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 144 ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, 145 And We made a gourd tree grow over him. 146 and We sent him forth to a nation of a hundred thousand or more, 147 And they believed, whrefore We let them enjoy life for a season. 148 Now, ask them, has your Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Did We create the angels as females the while they witnessed?” 150 Is it not of their own calumny that they say, 151 "God has begotten [a son]"; and verily, they are lying [too, when they say,] 152 Did He (then) choose daughters rather than sons? 153 What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement? 154 Will you not then remember? 155 Or have you clear evidence? 156 Then bring your scripture, if what you say is true. 157 They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be produced before Him [for judgement]. 158 limitless is God in His glory, above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 159 Not thus, however, [behave] God's true servants: 160 So, verily you (pagans) and those whom you worship (idols). 161 can lure away from God any 162 except him who shall roast in Hell. 163 There is not one of us but hath his known position. 164 And indeed, we are those who line up [for prayer]. 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 And indeed the disbelievers used to say, 167 "If we had a message from [those of] the former peoples, 168 we would have certainly been sincere servants of God". 169 But when it came to them, they rejected it. They shall soon come to know (the end of such an attitude). 170 Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys; 171 that it is certainly they who will be helped; 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 174 and see them; soon they shall see! 175 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 176 When it comes down on their plains, it will be an evil dawn for those who had been warned. 177 And turn away from them for some time. 178 and see, soon they shall see! 179 Glory be to thy Lord, the Lord of Glory, above that they describe! 180 So peace be on the messengers, 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
