Hizb 46

Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 [Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship. 140 So he shared (with them), but was of those who are cast off. 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 Had he not been of them who glorify Allah, 143 He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. 145 And We caused a tree of gourd to grow above him; 146 And [then] We sent him [once again] to [his people,] a hundred thousand [souls] or more: 147 And they came to believe; so We allowed them to enjoy the good things of life for an age. 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 Did We create the angels as females the while they witnessed?” 150 Then is it of their lying that they say: 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 What, and will you not remember? 155 Or do you have a clear authority? 156 Then bring your Book if you are truthful! 157 And they have invented a blood-relationship between Him and the Jinns: but the Jinns know (quite well) that they have indeed to appear (before his Judgment-Seat)! 158 God is far above what they attribute to Him, 159 except the servants of God, sincere and devoted. 160 So you and your deities 161 Ye cannot excite (anyone) against Him. 162 except him who shall roast in Hell. 163 (Those ranged in ranks say): "Not one of us but has a place appointed; 164 “And indeed we, with our wings spread, await the command.” 165 and we are of those who glorify Allah.” 166 They used to say: 167 If we had the account of earlier people with us, 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 They therefore denied it, so they will soon come to know. 170 And indeed Our Word has already gone forth for Our bondmen who were sent. 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 So turn (away) from them for a while. 174 And watch them and they shall see (the punishment)! 175 Would they hasten on Our doom? 176 So when it does descend in their courtyards so what an evil morning it will be for those who were warned! 177 Stay away from them for a while 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 Hallowed be thine Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they ascribe! 180 And Peace on the messengers! 181 and praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
