AND CALL to mind Our servant Job, [how it was] when he cried out to his Sustainer, "Behold, Satan has afflicted me with [utter] weariness and suffering!" 41 We said to him, “Strike the earth with your foot; this cool spring is for bathing and drinking.” (A spring gushed forth when he struck the earth – this was a miracle.) 42 And We gave him (back) his people, and doubled their number,- as a Grace from Ourselves, and a thing for commemoration, for all who have Understanding. 43 We said to Him, "Take a handful of twigs in your hand and strike with that but do not break your oath." We found him steadfast. What an excellent servant! He turned constantly to his Lord. 44 And remember Our slaves, Ibrahim (Abraham), Ishaque (Isaac), and Ya'qub (Jacob), (all) owners of strength (in worshipping Us) and (also) of religious understanding. 45 Lo! We purified them with a pure thought, remembrance of the Home (of the Hereafter). 46 And verily they are with us of the elect of the excellent ones. 47 And remember Isma'il (Ishmael), Al-Yasa'a (Elisha), and Dhul-Kifl (Isaiah), all are among the best. 48 This is an advice; and indeed for the pious is an excellent abode. 49 Gardens of Eden with gates open wide to them, 50 Therein they will recline; therein they will call for fruits in abundance and drinks; 51 ۞ And with them are those of modest gaze, companions. 52 This is what you are promised for the day of reckoning. 53 Indeed, this is Our provision; for it there is no depletion. 54 All this (is for the God-fearing). But for the transgressors, an evil resort awaits them -- 55 they will burn, in Hell, an evil resting place -- 56 This - so let them taste it - is scalding water and [foul] purulence. 57 And other (torment) of the kind in pairs (the two extremes)! 58 This is a crowd rushing in along with you; no welcome for them; verily they are to roast in the Fire. 59 They will say to them, "You are not welcome! It was you who brought this on us, an evil place to stay," 60 They will say: "Our Lord! Whoever brought this upon us, add to him a double torment in the Fire!" 61 And will add: "O what has happened to us that we do not see the men we counted among the wicked. 62 Is it [because] we took them in ridicule, or has [our] vision turned away from them?" 63 Surely that is true -- the disputing of the inhabitants of the Fire. 64
