So is one whose breast Allah has expanded to [accept] Islam and he is upon a light from his Lord [like one whose heart rejects it]? Then woe to those whose hearts are hardened against the remembrance of Allah. Those are in manifest error. 22 Allah has revealed the best announcement, a book conformable in its various parts, repeating, whereat do shudder the skins of those who fear their Lord, then their skins and their hearts become pliant to the remembrance of Allah; this is Allah's guidance, He guides with it whom He pleases; and (as for) him whom Allah makes err, there is no guide for him. 23 How woeful is the plight of him who has nothing except his face to shield him from severe chastisement on the Day of Resurrection? Such evil-doers shall be told: “Taste now the consequence of your deeds.” 24 Those that were before them cried lies, then the chastisement came upon them from whence they were not aware; 25 Then God made them taste of disgrace in this life; and the torment of the life to come is greater, if they understand. 26 And verily We have coined for mankind in this Qur'an all kinds of similitudes, that haply they may reflect; 27 as a discourse in the Arabic tongue, free of all deviousness, so that they might become conscious of God. 28 Allah propoundeth a similitude: man having several partners, quarelling, and a man wholly belonging to one man. Are the two equal in likeness? All praise unto Allah. But most of them know not. 29 Lo! thou wilt die, and lo! they will die; 30 Then, on the Day of Judgment, all of you will present your disputes before your Lord. 31
