A believer from the House of Pharaoh who had kept his faith to himself, said: "Will you kill a man because he says: 'My Lord is God,' when he has brought clear signs from his Lord to you? If he is a liar his lie will recoil back on him; but in case he speaks the truth, then what he predicts will befall you. Surely God does not show the way to the shameful liar. 28 My people! Yours is the kingdom today, you have dominion in the land; but who will help us against the scourge of God if it befalls us?" But Pharaoh said, "I point out to you only that which I consider right; and I guide you to the right path." 29 And he who believed said: "O my people! Verily, I fear for you a fate like that day (of disaster) of the Confederates (of old)! 30 people of Noah, Ad, Thamud, and those after them. God did not want injustice for His servants. 31 "And O my people! I fear for you a Day when there will be Mutual calling (and wailing),- 32 On that day you will run away, but no one will be able to protect you from (God's Judgment). No one can guide one whom God has caused to go astray. 33 And verily Joseph brought you of old clear proofs, yet ye ceased not to be in doubt concerning what he brought you till, when he died, ye said: Allah will not send any messenger after him. Thus Allah deceiveth him who is a prodigal, a doubter. 34 Those who dispute regarding the signs of Allah without any proof having come to them; how very disgusting this is, in the sight of Allah and in the sight of the believers! This is how Allah seals the entire heart of every haughty, rebellious person. 35 And said Firaun, “O Haman! Build a high palace for me, in order that I may reach the routes.” – 36 the highways to the heavens -- and have a look at the God of Moses, although I am certain that Moses is a liar.” Thus Pharaoh's evil deed was made to seem fair to him, and he was barred from the Right Path. Pharaoh's guile only led him to his own perdition. 37
