The man who believed said: "O my people, follow me; I will guide you to the right path. 38 My people, the life of this world is ephemeral, whereas the Hereafter, that is the permanent abode. 39 Whosoever does an evil deed shall be recompensed only with the like of it, but whosoever does a righteous deed, be it male or female, believing -- those shall enter Paradise, therein provided without reckoning. 40 ۞ My people, how is it that I call you to salvation while you call me to the Fire; 41 "You invite me to disbelieve in Allah (and in His Oneness), and to join partners in worship with Him; of which I have no knowledge, and I invite you to the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving! 42 The idols to which you invite me certainly have no claim to be deities in this world or in the life to come. Our return is to God and the transgressors will be the dwellers of hell fire. 43 You will soon recall what I have told you. I entrust God with my affairs. God is Well Aware of His servants." 44 So God preserved him from the evil they were planning; and a dreadful doom encompassed the people of Pharaoh: 45 The fire – upon which they are presented morning and evening; and when the Last Day is established – “Put the people of Firaun into the most severe punishment.” (Punishment in the grave is proven by this verse.) 46 And, when they will dispute in the Fire, the weak will say to those who were arrogant; "Verily! We followed you, can you then take from us some portion of the Fire?" 47 [to which] they who had [once] been arrogant will reply, "Behold, we are all in it [together]! Verily, God has judged between His creatures!" 48 And they who are in the fire will say to the keepers of hell, "Pray unto your Sustainer that He lighten, [though it be] for one day [only,] this suffering of ours!" 49 They shall say: Did not your apostles come to you with clear arguments? They shall say: Yea. They shall say: Then call. And the call of the unbelievers is only in error. 50
