Elucidated (Fussilat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 A revelation from the Beneficent, the Merciful Allah: 2 A Scripture whereof the verses are expounded, a Lecture in Arabic for people who have knowledge, 3 Giving good news and admonition: yet most of them turn away, and so they hear not. 4 And they say, “Our hearts are covered against the affair you call us to, and there is deafness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us and you – therefore mind your own business, we are minding ours.” 5 Say thou, [O Prophet:] "I am but a mortal like you. It has been revealed to me that your God is the One God: go, then, straight towards Him and seek His forgiveness!" And woe unto those who ascribe divinity to aught beside Him, 6 [and] those who do not spend in charity: for it is they, they who [thus] deny the truth of the life to come! 7 Indeed for those who believed and did good deeds, is a limitless reward. 8
