Whatever misfortune befalls you is a consequence of your deeds; yet He forgives much. 30 And you cannot escape from Allah (i.e. His Punishment) in the earth, and besides Allah you have neither any Wali (guardian or a protector) nor any helper. 31 And of His Signs are the ships that sail in the sea like mountains. 32 Had He wanted, He could have stopped the wind and let the ships remain motionless on the surface of the sea, in this there is evidence (of the Truth) for all those who are patient and grateful, 33 He may, while forgiving much of the sins of those that ride these ships, drown them on account of some of their misdeeds. 34 Then those who wrangle about Our Signs will come to know that there is no escape for them. 35 So whatever you have been given is but a passing enjoyment for this worldly life, but that which is with Allah (Paradise) is better and more lasting for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and put their trust in their Lord (concerning all of their affairs). 36 And those who avoid the major sins and indecencies and, when angered, forgive; 37 those who answer their Lord, establish the prayers, and their affairs are by consultation; who spend of that which We have given them, 38 who, when a wrong is done to them, seek its redress. 39 The retribution of a harmful deed is the harm equal to it; so whoever forgives and makes amends, so his reward is upon Allah; indeed He does not befriend the unjust. 40 And indeed whosoever takes revenge after he has suffered wrong, for such there is no way (of blame) against them. 41 The way (of blame) is only against those who oppress men and wrongly rebel in the earth, for such there will be a painful torment. 42 And indeed whoever patiently endured and forgave – then indeed these are acts of great courage. 43
