Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha, Meem. 1 By the Book that makes things clear,- 2 We have made it a Qur'an in Arabic, that ye may be able to understand (and learn wisdom). 3 And verily, it is in the Mother of the Book, in Our Presence, high (in dignity), full of wisdom. 4 What! shall We then turn away the reminder from you altogether because you are an extravagant people? 5 And how many a Prophet have We sent amongst the men of old. 6 No Prophet came to them whom they did not mock. 7 Wherefore We destroyed peoples mightier than these in prowess; and there hath gone forth the example of the ancients. 8 And indeed if you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" They will surely say: "The All-Mighty, the All-Knower created them." 9 Who hath made for you the earth a bed, and hath made for you paths therein that haply ye may be directed. 10 And Who sendeth down water from the sky in (due) measure, and We revive a dead land therewith. Even so will ye be brought forth; 11 And who created the species, all of them, and has made for you of ships and animals those which you mount. 12 so that when you are mounted upon them you may remember the bounty of your Lord, and say: “Glory be to Him Who has subjected this to Us whereas we did not have the strength to subdue it. 13 "And to our Lord, surely, must we turn back!" 14 The pagans have considered some of His servants as His children. There is no doubt that the human being is simply ungrateful. 15
