۞ No sooner the example of the son of Mary was mentioned than, lo and behold, your people raised a clamour 57 And say: Are our gods better, or is he? They raise not the objection save for argument. Nay! but they are a contentious folk. 58 He was no more than a servant (of Ours), one upon whom We bestowed Our favours and whom We made an example (of Our infinite power) for the Children of Israel. 59 And had We so willed, [O you who worship angels,] We could indeed have made you into angels succeeding one another on earth! 60 And most surely it is a knowledge of the hour, therefore have no doubt about it and follow me: this is the right path. 61 and do not let satan prevent you, for he is your clear enemy. 62 NOW WHEN Jesus came [to his people] with all evidence of the truth, he said: "I have now come unto you with wisdom, and to make clear unto you some of that on which you are at variance: hence, be conscious of God, and pay heed unto me. 63 Verily Allah! He is my lord and your Lord, so worship Him: this is the straight path. 64 Then the sects differed among themselves. Woe then unto those who do Wrong because of the torment of an afflictive Day. 65 Are they waiting except for the Hour to come upon them suddenly while they perceive not? 66 Friends will turn into enemies on that day, except those who fear and follow the straight path. 67
