And assuredly We delivered the Children of Isra'il from an ignominous torment 30 Inflicted by Pharaoh, for he was arrogant (even) among inordinate transgressors. 31 We gave preference to the Israelites over the other people with Our knowledge 32 And granted them signs in which there was a plain trial. 33 [Now,] behold, these [people] say indeed: 34 “This is our first and only death, and we shall never be raised again. 35 So bring our ancestors back, if you are truthful." 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba' and those before them whom We destroyed? They were surely sinners. 37 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, merely in (idle) sport: 38 We did not create them except in truth, but most of them do not know. 39 Truly, the Day of Decision is the appointed time for all of them, 40 the day a master shall avail nothing a client, and they shall not be helped, 41 except those on whom Allah will have mercy. He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 42
