and We saved the Children of Israel from a humiliating punishment 30 Inflicted by Pharaoh, for he was arrogant (even) among inordinate transgressors. 31 And assuredly We elected them with knowledge above the worlds. 32 and gave them signs wherein there was a manifest trial. 33 Yet these say: 34 'There is nothing but our first death; we shall not be revived. 35 So bring our fathers (back), if you are truthful. 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in play. 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 Truly, the Day of Decision is the appointed time for all of them, 40 The Day when no relation will avail a relation at all, nor will they be helped - 41 Except those [believers] on whom Allah has mercy. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 42
