Al-Najm 3 of 3
Did you (O Muhammad SAW) observe him who turned away (from Islam). 33 and gives a little, grudgingly? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 So fall you down in prostration to Allah, and worship Him (Alone). ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
