And certainly We delivered the children of Israel from the abasing chastisement, 30 From Firaun; he was indeed proud, among the transgressors. 31 And certainly We chose them, having knowledge, above the nations. 32 And granted them signs in which there was a plain trial. 33 Most surely these do say: 34 "After we die, we shall never be raised to life again. 35 So then, bring forth our forefathers [as witnesses,] if what you claim is true!" 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 We created not the heavens and earth, and all that between them is, in play; 38 We have created them for a genuine purpose, but most people do not know. 39 The Day of Decision is the appointed time for all. 40 The Day when no protector can avail his client in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 except those to whom Allah shows mercy. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate. 42
