Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Doom?' 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 And in the morning they asked forgiveness. 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in heaven is [the source of] your sustenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]: 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
