Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 Verily that wherewith ye are threatened is surely true. 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths! 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 In the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who have strong faith. 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
