S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Sad. By the Quran, full of admonition! 1 nay, but the unbelievers glory in their schism. 2 Many a generation We did destroy before them – thereupon they cried out whereas it is not the time to escape! 3 And they (Arab pagans) wonder that a warner (Prophet Muhammad SAW) has come to them from among themselves! And the disbelievers say: "This (Prophet Muhammad SAW) is a sorcerer, a liar. 4 They say, "Has he condemned all other gods but One? This is certainly strange". 5 Their leaders departed, saying, "Walk away! Hold fast to your deities. This is clearly a conspiracy. 6 “We never heard of this even in Christianity, the latest religion; this is clearly a newly fabricated matter.” 7 What! Upon him alone from among all of us should a [divine] reminder have been bestowed from on high?" Nay, but it is My Own reminder that they distrust! Nay, they have not yet tasted the suffering which I do impose! 8 Or are theirs the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord, the Mighty, the Bestower? 9 Or is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them theirs? Then let them ascend by ropes! 10 But there - will be put to flight even a host of confederates. 11 Before them (were many who) belied Messengers, the people of Nuh (Noah); and 'Ad; and Fir'aun (Pharaoh) the man of stakes (with which he used to punish the people), 12 And Samood and the people of Lut and the dwellers of the thicket; these were the parties. 13 Not one of them but belied the Messengers, therefore My Torment was justified, 14
