Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, may he be ruined. 1 His wealth and gains will not exempt him. 2 He shall soon burn in fire that flames, 3 together with his wife, that carrier of evil tales, 4 [who bears] around her neck a rope of twisted strands! 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
