And indeed, We created man from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud. 26 And the jinn We created before, of intensely hot fire. 27 And recall when your Lord said to the angels, “I will create man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud.” 28 When I have shaped him, and breathed My spirit in him, fall you down, bowing before him!' 29 All the angels prostrated before Adam 30 Except Iblis (Satan), - he refused to be among the prostrators. 31 He said: 'iblis, what is the matter with you, that you do you not prostrate yourself' 32 He said: I am not one to prostrate myself unto a mortal whom Thou hast created out of potter's clay of black mud altered! 33 God told him, "Get out of the garden; you are rejected 34 and [My] rejection shall be thy due until the Day of Judgment!" 35 He said: My Lord! Reprieve me till the day when they are raised. 36 Allah said: "For sure you are granted respite 37 till that Appointed Day." 38 He said, “My Lord! I swear by the fact that You sent me astray, I shall distract them in the earth, and I shall lead all of them astray.” 39 [all] save such of them as are truly Thy servants!" 40 He said: This is a right way with Me: 41 over My servants thou shalt have no authority, except those that follow thee, 42 And verily, Hell is the promised abode for them all! 43 There are seven gates in it, and to each gate a portion of them has been allotted. 44
