Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 in a sublime garden, 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 and prepared goblets, 14 And cushions ranged! 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
