Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Calamity! 1 What is the Indubitable? 2 And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 the Thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning; 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's apostle, so He laid hold of them with a grip increasing. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 In order to make it a warning for you, and that the ear retentive may preserve it. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound a single blast. 13 when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 Then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall, 15 And the heaven will split asunder – so on that day it will be unstable. 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 On that Day you will be brought to judgement and none of your secrets will remain hidden. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand – he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 Clusters whereof shall be near at hand. 23 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 and neither known this my account! 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 My riches have not availed me, 28 and my authority has vanished.” 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 Then into Hellfire drive him. 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), 34 So no friend has he here this Day, 35 Nor any food save filth 36 Which none but sinners eat. 37
