۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 "Besides Allah, and lead them to the Way to the (Fierce) Fire! 23 And stop them, for they shall be questioned: 24 "What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another (as you used to do in the world)?" 25 Nay! on that Day they will be entirely submissive. 26 And they will turn to one another and question one another. 27 They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]." 28 [To which] the others will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were bereft of all faith! 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 Therefore we perverted you, and we ourselves were perverts.' 32 So, they will become partners in punishment. 33 Verily, thus shall We deal with all who were lost in sin: 34 for, behold, whenever they were told, "There is no deity save God," they would glory in their arrogance 35 And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?" 36 Nay! he has come with the (very) Truth, and he confirms (the Message of) the messengers (before him). 37 You shall certainly taste the painful punishment: 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 Save the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 40 there is waiting for them a known provision; 41 Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy) honour and dignity, 42 In gardens of pleasure 43 Facing one another on thrones. 44 Round will be passed to them a Cup from a clear-flowing fountain, 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 wherein no sickness is, neither intoxication; 47 And with them will be chaste females, restraining their glances (desiring none except their husbands), with wide and beautiful eyes. 48 As if they were eggs, safely hidden. 49 They will turn to each other and ask questions. 50 One of them will say: “I had a companion in the world 51 Who used to say: Art thou in truth of those who put faith (in his words)? 52 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we be recompensed?" 53 He said: 'Will you look down?' 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 He will say to his friend in hell, "By God, you almost destroyed me. 56 But for Allah's favour, I should be one of those who have been mustered here. 57 (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? 58 Except for our first death, and we will not be punished?" 59 Verily this is the supreme achievement! 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is this better as a welcome, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 which We have made as a torment for the unjust? 63 Indeed it is a tree that sprouts from the base of hell. 64 Its produce is as it were the heads of the serpents. 65 They will eat from it and fill their bellies with it; 66 And behold, above all this they will be confounded with burning despair! 67 They can only return to hell. 68 They had found their fathers astray, 69 So in their footsteps they are being hastened on. 70 And certainly most of the ancients went astray before them, 71 And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers); 72 Then look how was the end of those who were warned - 73 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 74
