The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the sky with its constellations, 1 by the promised day, 2 by the Witness and the witnessed, 3 The companions of the pit were killed 4 with fire abounding in fuel, 5 As they sat around it 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy, 8 To Him only belongs the kingship of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness over all things. 9 Verily, those who put into trial the believing men and believing women (by torturing them and burning them), and then do not turn in repentance, (to Allah), will have the torment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the burning Fire. 10 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow; this is the great success. 11 The vengeance of God is terribly severe. 12 Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth, 13 And He alone is truly-forgiving, all-embracing in His love, 14 – the Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 a sovereign doer of whatever He wills. 16 Has the story of the armies reached you, 17 Of Pharaoh and Thamud come to you? 18 Nay! The disbelievers (persisted) in denying (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and his Message of Islamic Monotheism). 19 but all the while God encompasses them [with His knowledge and might] without their being aware of it. 20 Nay, this is a Glorious Qur'an, 21 written on a preserved Tablet. 22
