Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the swift scatterers 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 Who are lost in deception. 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith, 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
