The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Most Beneficent (Allah)! 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 Created man, 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
