He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED and turned away 1 Because a blind man came to him. 2 And what would make you know that he would purify himself, 3 or yet remember, and the Reminder profit him. 4 As for him who was indifferent, 5 To him you give attention. 6 although it is not for you to be concerned if he remained unpurified. 7 But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge] 8 and fearfully, 9 of him you were unmindful. 10 These verses are a reminder 11 Therefore let whoso will, keep it in remembrance. 12 In honored books, 13 exalted, purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 noble and purified. 16 Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah; 17 From what thing doth He create him? 18 From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 Then He causes him to die, and puts him in his grave; 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him. 23 Let man consider his food: 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 and thereupon We cause grain to grow out of it, 27 together with grapes and vegetables, 28 And olives and date palms, 29 and dense orchards, 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 as provision for you and for your cattle to enjoy. 32 Then when cometh the Deafening Cry 33 That Day shall a man flee from his own brother, 34 and from his mother and father, 35 his wife and his children. 36 Each man will have enough cares that day. 37 Many faces will that day be bright, 38 and be cheerful and joyous. 39 And faces on that Day! upon them shall be gloom. 40 Blackness will cover them: 41 those will be ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity. 42
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
