Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They slept very little during the night 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 There is also evidence of the Truth within your own selves. Will you then not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
