The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ EXTOL the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's name: [the glory of] the Al-Highest, 1 who created and shaped, 2 Who determined and guided them, 3 and who brings forth herbage, 4 Then makes it dried up, dust-colored. 5 We will make you recite, [O Muhammad], and you will not forget, 6 save what God may will [thee to forget] - for, verily, He [alone] knows all that is open to [man's] perception as well as all that is hidden [from it] 7 We shall ease you to follow the way of Ease. 8 Therefore advise, if advising is beneficial. 9 Admonished is he indeed who feareth, 10 And the most unfortunate one will avoid it, 11 He who shall roast into the Great Fire, 12 In which he will neither die nor live. 13 He who purifies himself, 14 And recites the name of his Lord and serves with devotion. 15 But nay, [O men,] you prefer the life of this world, 16 While the Hereafter is better and more enduring. 17 Most surely this is in the earlier scriptures, 18 the Scrolls of Abraham and Moses. 19
