Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the books are spread, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
True are the words of God the Almighty.
