Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
