Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Say, (O Prophet), it was revealed to me that a band of jinn attentively listened to (the recitation of the Qur'an) and then (went back to their people) and said: “We have indeed heard a wonderful Qur'an" 1 'It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allah). 2 And that He-- exalted be the majesty of our Lord-- has not taken a consort, nor a son: 3 The ignorant fool among us has spoken outrageously against Allah, 4 and that “we had thought that men and jinn would never speak a lie about Allah”, 5 'And verily, there were men among mankind who took shelter with the masculine among the jinns, but they (jinns) increased them (mankind) in sin and disbelief. 6 so much so that they came to think, as you [once] thought, that God would never [again] send forth anyone [as His apostle]. 7 And we have sought [to reach] the heaven but found it filled with powerful guards and burning flames. 8 And we used to sit therein in positions for hearing, but whoever listens now will find a burning flame lying in wait for him. 9 and that “we do not know whether evil is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends to direct them to the Right Way”; 10 And among us are the righteous, and among us are [others] not so; we were [of] divided ways. 11 ‘And we are certain that we cannot defeat Allah in the earth, nor can we run out of His grasp.’ 12 When we heard the guidance, we believed in it; and whosoever believes in his Lord, he shall fear neither paltriness nor vileness. 13 and that “among us some are Muslims (Those who have submitted to Allah), and some of us are deviant. So those who became Muslims found the Right Course; 14 But those who are iniquitous will be fuel for Hell. 15 If they had followed the right path, We would have provided them with abundant rain -- 16 In order to try them through it. But whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, will be given increasing torment by Him." 17 And [He revealed] that the masjids are for Allah, so do not invoke with Allah anyone. 18 And when the bondman of Allah stood calling upon Him, they well nigh pressed on him stifling. 19
