۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 Beside Allah, and lead them on to the path of the Flaming Fire. 23 And detain them, for they will be questioned." 24 "What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another (as you used to do in the world)?" 25 Nay! on that Day they will be entirely submissive. 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 They say: Lo! ye used to come unto us, imposing, (swearing that ye spoke the truth). 28 They will say: “Nay, you yourselves were not the ones who would believe. 29 Moreover, we had no power at all over you: nay, you were people filled with overweening arrogance! 30 "So now has been proved true, against us, the word of our Lord that we shall indeed (have to) taste (the punishment of our sins). 31 So we led you astray, for we ourselves were erring. 32 So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment. 33 This is how We deal with the guilty. 34 For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride, 35 And to say: What! shall we indeed give up our gods for the sake of a mad poet? 36 Not in the least. He has brought the truth and confirmed the other messengers. 37 Lo! (now) verily ye taste the painful doom - 38 You will only be recompensed according to your deeds.” 39 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 40 For them is the sustenance known to Us. 41 Fruits. And they will be honoured 42 in the Gardens of Bliss 43 seated on couches, facing one another. 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 Clear, delicious to drink, 46 there is neither sickness in it, nor intoxication. 47 And with them are those who do not set gaze upon men except their husbands, the maidens with gorgeous eyes. 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 They will go to one another asking each other questions. 50 One of them says, 'I had a comrade 51 Who said: What! are you indeed of those who accept (the truth)? 52 "(That) when we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed (be raised up) to receive reward or punishment (according to our deeds)?" 53 He says, 'Are you looking down?' 54 Then looketh he and seeth him in the depth of hell. 55 He said, “By Allah, you had nearly ruined me!” 56 And had it not been for the favor of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought up. 57 He will ask his companion, "Did you not say that there would only be one death 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 Surely this is the supreme triumph. 60 For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive. 61 Is this better as a welcome, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 We have made this tree a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 Indeed it is a tree that sprouts from the base of hell. 64 Its fruit like the heads of demons. 65 and they eat of it, and of it fill their bellies, 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 Then their return will be to the same blazing Hell. 68 Verily they found their fathers gone astray. 69 and [now] they make haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And indeed before them, most of the former people went astray. 71 and We had sent among them Messengers to warn them. 72 Then see how was the end of those warned, 73 Except the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 74
