He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 Because there came unto him a blind man. 2 How canst thou know, whether haply he might be cleansed, 3 or yet remember, and the Reminder profit him. 4 As to one who regards Himself as self-sufficient, 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 And no blame is on you if he would not purify himself 7 And for him who came to you striving, 8 And whereas he fears, 9 Of him wast thou unmindful. 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 Therefore let whoso will, keep it in remembrance. 12 in [the light of His] revelations blest with dignity, 13 Exalted, pure. 14 By the hands of scribes. 15 noble and virtuous scribes. 16 Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. 17 From what substance did He create him? 18 From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him; 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 He will then send him to death and have him laid in the grave. 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him. 23 So man must look at his food. 24 That We watered it in abundance. 25 Then split the earth in clefts 26 to yield therein corn, 27 grapes, and fresh fodder, 28 And the olive and the palm, 29 And enclosed gardens luxuriant. 30 And fruits and grasses: 31 an enjoyment for you and your flocks. 32 When the trumpet sounds, 33 on a Day when everyone will [want to] flee from his brother, 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 on that Day every man among them will have enough concern of his own -- 37 Many a face will be glittering on that day. 38 laughing, joyous; 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 with darkness overspread: 41 these, these will be the ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity! 42
