The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky has split [open] 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 he shall call for destruction 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 for, behold, he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
