Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

By heaven and the night-star! 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
