This surely is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe: 192 The Faithful Spirit has descended with it, 193 Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners - 194 in the clear Arabic tongue. 195 Its news was also mentioned in the ancient Books. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the Israelites know it? 197 (But such is their adamance) that had We revealed it to one of the non-Arabs and even if he had recited (this clear Arabic discourse) to them 198 And had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 This is how We have made (the habit of) denying embedded in the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe it until they behold the painful punishment. 201 And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not. 202 Then they will say: Shall we be respited? 203 Do they want to hasten Our torment? 204 What do you see? If We gave them enjoyment for years, 205 and thereupon that [chastisement] which they were promised befalls them 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 And withal, never have We destroyed any community unless it had been warned 208 to admonish them. We have never been unjust. 209 It was not the satans who brought it down: 210 They are unworthy of it, nor can they do it. 211 Verily, they have been removed far from hearing it. 212 So do not call any other god beside Allah lest you become of those who will be punished, 213 And warn your near relations, 214 And take those believers under your wing who follow you. 215 And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing." 216 Have trust in the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up (to pray) 218 And thy movements among those who prostrate themselves, 219 Lo! He, only He, is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every forgerer steeped in sin, 222 (Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, only the wayward follow them. 224 Do you not see that they wander about in every valley 225 preaching what they do not practice. 226 Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned. 227
