Al-Najm 3 of 3
(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him. How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
