The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created man. 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
